I was excited to see the first class mailing arrive in the mail today. Not so much because of what it contained (I had seen it already), but primarily because I knew that finally the rest of the class would soon know of the new class website and about all of the ideas the class officers have put on the table for your consideration. I’ve got great hopes for the class and for our relationship with the University and our own communities, and we can know begin to move those hopes into reality.
I encourage all members of the Class of ‘87 to sign up for accounts on the class website, so that (1) you can explore the modest content we have already put up on the site (with many thanks to Antonio Romero and to Becky Clement), and (2) you can begin adding your own content. I hope you will set up your own page on the site so that your classmates can know what you are up to, and you should feel free to expand the site in ways we haven’t yet thought of.
For now, I just hope folks will take some inspiration from the letter we have put together and will find a way to get involved in class matters. I certainly look forward to hearing from all of you.
